Flemoxin Solutab 250 is a pharmaceutical drug that has proven itself in the fight against infections of bacterial origin. It is prescribed not only for the treatment of adult patients, but is also actively used in pediatrics.

The composition and form of the drug

The active component in the composition of the drug is the semisynthetic antibiotic amoxicillin, related to penicillins. Along with it there are substances that play an auxiliary role: flavors, crospovidone, vanillin, saccharin, magnesium stearate, cellulose.

The drug is represented by convex tablets of elongated shape, white (with a slightly noticeable yellow tint) color, dispersible, with a pleasant smell.

Cardboard packaging contains blisters, each containing 5 tablets, and detailed instructions for use.

From what tablets Flemoxin Solutab 250 and in what cases is prescribed

The antibiotic is designed to combat pathogenic microorganisms. Therefore, tablets are prescribed for diseases caused or complicated by bacterial microflora:

  • lower or upper respiratory tract infections;
  • otitis media;
  • lesions of the musculoskeletal system;
  • infections of the skin with penetration into the tissues - furunculosis, streptoderma, erysipelas;
  • pathologies of the urinary system, female urogenital sphere - adnexitis, cystitis, pyelonephritis.

A pharmaceutical agent is sometimes used in combination with other medicines.

Instructions for use and dosage for children and adults

Usually, the doctor calculates the dosage individually - it depends on the age of the patient, the diagnosis, body weight.

General information about the dosage is reflected in the instructions: adults and children after 10 years should take 2 tablets (500 mg) three times a day for 1 time. Reception can be reduced to 2 times a day, but then you need to drink 750 mg of the drug for 1 time (3 tablets).

Children from 1 year to 3 years can take children's Flemoxin in tablets of 125 mg. If only a 250 mg tablet is available, then it is divided in half and at one time the child drinks a half (125 mg). 3 doses daily.

Starting from 3 years of age (up to 10 years), patients take 1 tablet of Flemoxin Solutab (250 mg) three times a day.

It is better to give Flemoxin to the child in the form of a suspension (it is obtained by dissolving the tablet in a small amount of water). Or you can crush the medicine into powder to make it easier to swallow. An antibiotic is not taken on an empty stomach.

The usual course duration is 1 week, but in severe cases, tablets are taken for 10-14 days.

During pregnancy and breastfeeding

Flemoxin Solutab is forbidden to take at the beginning of pregnancy - in the first trimester. Later, from the 2nd trimester, a specialist can prescribe an antibiotic if necessary.

The active substance passes into breast milk; therefore, it is better to stop feeding during Flemoxin treatment.

Drug interaction

It is not recommended to take magnesium preparations, enveloping and laxatives simultaneously with the antibiotic - the effect of amoxicillin will be weakened due to a decrease in its absorption.

Flemoxin is poorly combined with indirect anticoagulants - bleeding may occur.

The antibiotic weakens the effect of oral contraceptives.

Flemoxin Solutab and certain antibiotics (cephalosporins, aminoglycosides) can mutually reinforce each other's actions.

Flemoxin Solutab and alcohol

Do not drink alcohol at the same time as antibiotic treatment.

Alcohol is able to lower the concentration of the drug in the body, accelerating its elimination, because of which the therapeutic effect will not be achieved. Adaptation of pathogenic pathogens to amoxicillin may occur, then the doctor will have to prescribe another antibiotic to the patient.

Also, drinking alcohol in parallel with the therapy threatens:

  • the development of intestinal dysbiosis;
  • malfunctions of the stomach, liver;
  • allergic manifestations;
  • the occurrence of tachycardia.

Contraindications, side effects and overdose

Flemoxin Solutab is contraindicated in:

  • pathologies of the liver;
  • acute renal failure, severe kidney disease;
  • intolerance of constituent components;

You can not prescribe the drug if in the past the patient had severe adverse reactions during the use of antibiotics belonging to the penicillin series.

Side effects include:

  • nausea, stomach pain, vomiting, heartburn, dysbiosis, diarrhea;
  • enlarged liver and liver failure;
  • cystitis;

In cases where the recommended dose has been exceeded, vomiting and diarrhea may occur. In such a situation, gastric lavage, sorbent intake, and the use of an aqueous electrolyte solution will be required.

Analogs

Structural analogues of Flemoxin include:

  • Amoxil;
  • Hiconcil;
  • Ecobol;
  • Augmentin.

The active substance in these drugs is the same - amoxicillin.

Indications for taking Amoxil tablets are the same as Flemoxin.

  • intolerance to antibiotic or auxiliary components;
  • lymphocytic leukemia;
  • lactation period;
  • Infectious mononucleosis.

The instructions indicate the doses: for children from 10 years old and adults - 500-750 mg twice a day; children from 3 years of age - 250 mg three times a day. With an individual approach that takes into account the diagnosis, age and other characteristics of the body, the dosage can be changed.

The duration of therapy for moderate infections is 1 week. With severe lesions - from 10 days.

Hikontsil in capsules is recommended for infectious lesions:

  • digestive system;
  • lower respiratory tract;
  • soft tissues, skin;
  • urinary system;
  • throat, ears, nose.

Capsules can be prescribed for gonorrhea, Lyme disease, for the prevention of bacterial endocarditis and for surgical operations affecting the upper respiratory tract and oral cavity.

Hikontsil not prescribed for:

  • lymphocytic leukemia;
  • infectious mononucleosis;
  • ARVI;
  • hay fever;
  • bronchial asthma;
  • infectious diseases of the gastrointestinal tract, which occur with vomiting and diarrhea;

  • vomiting

Adult patients drink Hikontsil in the following amount: 250-500 mg at a time, three times a day. But for a more accurate appointment, they turn to a specialist, because the dosage will vary depending on the diagnosis.

Ecobol tablets have the same indications for use as Hikontsila. Additionally, several more diseases can be distinguished:

  • leptospirosis;
  • dysentery;
  • salmonellosis;
  • listeriosis.

Do not use the medicine for children under 3 years of age and for patients with hypersensitivity to the components.

The list of relative contraindications includes:

  • lymphocytic leukemia;
  • severe liver disease;
  • allergic lesions (and predisposition to them);
  • Infectious mononucleosis;
  • renal failure;
  • colitis and other gastrointestinal lesions.

The dosage of Ecobol depends on body weight, diagnosis, age.

A single dose for children over 10 years old and adults is 500 mg (sometimes due to a serious condition it reaches 1000 mg). For children aged 3 to 5 years - 125 mg; patients from 5 to 10 years old - 250 mg.

Children and adults need to drink the medicine three times a day.

Augmentin (250 mg / 125 mg) is different from previous pharmaceuticals. Amoxicillin (250 mg) with clavulanic acid (125 mg) is present in its composition - this combination even more effectively destroys the causative agents of infectious diseases.

The medicine is prescribed in the same cases as Flemoxin.

Contraindications for Augmentin in the form of tablets of 250 mg / 125 mg are:

  • age up to 12 years, weight less than 40 kg
  • intolerance to compound substances;
  • pathology of the liver.

If the lesions are moderate, then the recommended dosage for adults and children from 12 years old (and with a body weight of 40 kg or more) is a tablet three times a day.

The minimum course lasts 5 days, the severe course of the disease involves prolonged therapy - up to 2 weeks.

The advantages of a pharmaceutical agent are that it effectively affects a large number of pathogenic microorganisms, rarely causes adverse reactions, has a number of analogues. Flemoxin Solutab is suitable for young children - and this is another indisputable advantage of the drug.
