Baked apples in the oven with sugar

For baking, it is more convenient to use fruits with a thick skin. These are varieties such as Granny Smith, Antonovka, or Ranet.

If the apple is not sweet enough by itself, you can cook it with a sweetener. Baked apples with sugar should not crack and release juice, so the amount of sweet sand used is very limited. Usually, in order not to cause plentiful streaks of burnt caramel, a teaspoon per fruit is enough. Alternatively, you can separately cook caramel and pour it over the finished dessert. In this case, the fruit will retain juice as much as possible, and the dishes will remain clean.

  1. Wash the apples thoroughly, cut off the top of them. The result is a “lid” with a thickness of about 1.5 cm.

For 8 apples, prepare in advance:

  • 4 sheets of finished puff pastry;
  • 300 g of cottage cheese;
  • 100 g of sugar;
  • cinnamon or vanilla to taste.

Apples do not have to be filled, but without filling they will quickly lose their shape.

You can use any filling: cottage cheese, cottage cheese and dried fruits, nuts and dried fruits, and more.
