“Fat in Chocolate” is a rather exotic dish that leaves no one indifferent. You can love it or hate it, but you should definitely try it at least once. Before finally deciding on the attitude to this dessert, we suggest preparing it yourself according to one of the recipes offered below.

It is noteworthy that there is no one to thank for such an unusual culinary invention - it is still unknown who came up with the idea to combine seemingly generally incompatible products and wrap pork fat in icing from cocoa beans.

You will need:

  • 130 g smoked pork belly (can be replaced with fat);
  • 180 g of chocolate.

  1. Cut the brisket or fat into thin plates.
  2. Fry until crisp in a preheated pan.
  3. Spread the finished bacon on parchment to drain the remaining fat.
  4. Melt the chocolate in a water bath.
  5. Dip the strips of brisket into the chocolate mass.
  6. We send the finished treat to the refrigerator until the glaze hardens completely.

Important! Do not use the brisket, which was smoked using liquid smoke, the dish will get an unpleasant taste and a pungent smell.

With the addition of prunes

To further diversify the taste of an already quite original dessert, you can add any dried plum to the main products.

You will need:

  • 250 g of fat;
  • 200 g of prunes;
  • 50 g of nuts;
  • chocolate bar;
  • 100 g butter;
  • silicone mold for ice.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Thinly cut the fat and leave it to “rest” at room temperature so that it acquires plasticity.
  2. Boil the prunes, let cool and finely chop.
  3. We form balls of prunes, put a nut inside each.
  4. Wrap the finished balls tightly with bacon and cool them for an hour in the freezer.
  5. We prepare chocolate and butter icing in a water bath.
  6. Pour half the glaze into silicone molds.
  7. Gently put a ball of prunes, nuts and lard in each chocolate box.
  8. Fill with the remaining glaze.
  9. We send it to the refrigerator for an hour so that the candies completely freeze.

Prunes in this recipe, if desired, can be replaced with dried apricots or raisins. Any nuts are suitable - the choice depends solely on taste preferences.

Sweets "Fat in Chocolate"

You will need:

  • 2/3 bars of dark chocolate;
  • 200 g of slightly salted fat;
  • 50 g butter;
  • 50 g of walnuts;
  • a pinch of cinnamon;
  • skewers or toothpicks.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Grind lard and nuts in a blender.
  2. Add cinnamon to the prepared mixture.
  3. We form small balls and send them to the freezer for an hour.
  4. Cooking chocolate and butter icing.
  5. We put frozen balls on skewers and alternately dip in warm glaze.
  6. We put the finished products in a glass so that they do not stick together and do not lose their shape, and send them to the refrigerator (not to the freezer) for 1.5–2 hours.

Important! Serve chocolate lard candies with light alcoholic cocktails. Drinking dessert with compotes, teas or milk drinks is not recommended.

With cardamom and black pepper

Modern confectioners decided to diversify such an exotic dessert, adding spices and spices to it.

You will need:

  • 150 g of fresh fat (optimal - dorsal tenderloin);
  • 2 bars of dark chocolate;
  • 80 g of butter;
  • a pinch of cinnamon;
  • 1/3 tsp ground black pepper;
  • ¼ tsp ground cardamom;
  • 1 tsp cocoa.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Grind fat into a meat grinder, form small cubes and leave them to freeze in the freezer for an hour.
  2. Melt chocolate with butter in a water bath.
  3. Add cocoa, cinnamon, pepper and cardamom to the chocolate mass.
  4. Dip the frozen cubes in chocolate with spices and leave them to solidify in the refrigerator.

  • one third of a teaspoon of dried and minced ginger;
  • half a teaspoon of ground allspice and nutmeg;
  • a pinch of red pepper.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Cut the bacon into thin layers and bake in the oven until crisp (t 200 °).
  2. Melt the chocolate and add spices to it.
  3. Gently cool the strips of bacon in a chocolate mass.
  4. We cool the finished product in the refrigerator until the chocolate has completely hardened.
