Chocolate "Alenka": brand history

In the 60s of the last century, the government of the USSR, adopting a food program, introduced a clause on the creation of a new milk chocolate, which must be tasty and not like the others. A competition was announced, as a result of which the confectionery factory, now known in many countries as Red October, was declared the winner. It was she who was supposed to fulfill the state order.

In addition to individual recipes, there were requirements to create a bright and recognizable wrapper. Artists have tried various images. There were ideas to make Alenka with carnations, portray the role of the Snow Maiden, draw with pigtails.

They also proposed to present on the wrapper the famous painting "Alyonushka" written by Vasnetsov. But “above” this idea has been criticized. After all, the country has a happy childhood, and the girl on the canvas with bare feet.

The first "Alenka" did not have a permanent design. Chocolate was produced with various images and shades of the wrapper. The first chocolate factory Babaevskaya depicted on a wrapper a girl in a blue shawl. And Rot-Front Chocolate launched two images for sale: with a watering can and a girl pictured with a dog and a bunny.

Initially, the release of chocolate was in the traditional commemorative design in honor of Labor Day and March 8, also produced without any image.

But in 1964, it was decided to use in a permanent design.

Who is depicted on the packaging of chocolate "Alenka"

The factory announced a competition for a photograph of a girl who will be depicted on a chocolate wrapper.Gerinas’s wife remembered the photograph that had been published in the Health magazine in 1962. Her daughter at that time was 8 months old. As a result, it was decided to take this image as the basis.

To wrap the girl, they painted on and changed a little facial features. The brown color of the eyes turned blue, the face became more elongated, her cheeks were rosy, her lips were swollen, and her eyes were drawn in the opposite direction. Since 1966, this image has helped to become a famous brand not only in the USSR, but also far beyond its borders.

In 2000, Elena Gerasimova sued Krasny Oktyabr because the factory used its image for many years. The proceedings went more spirit of the years, as a result of many examinations, it was recognized that the image reflects a new independent image.

Let's see why chocolate burns. Tile, most of it, consists of oil. And as everyone knows, oil burns. Cocoa butter, which is part of the chocolate bar, is also flammable. A burning match or flame from a stove has a high temperature at which the chocolate does not have time to melt and begins to burn.
