Sinupret: analogues are cheaper and Russian, in tablets and drops, instructions for use
In the cold season, almost every person has to face a runny nose, also known as rhinitis. Seeming not very scary, the usual “snot” at some point can develop into both a chronic form and a more serious disease - sinusitis, which can be eliminated only by applying considerable effort. To prevent this from happening, immediately after the appearance of rhinitis, you need to try to take all measures to alleviate your condition, therefore, in the article we will consider Sinupret analogues and features of the drug itself.

Brief description of the drug

The main feature of Sinupret is that all active ingredients in its composition are components of plant origin. Gentian root, primrose and elderberry flowers, verbena grass - all these are known remedies for the common cold and the common cold.

The auxiliary components are purified water, glucose, yellow gentian, gelatin, stearic acid and others. They are necessary to create the dosage form itself and do not participate in the treatment in any way.

The pharmacological effect of the drug is that the biologically active substances that make up the components of Sinupret have anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and secretomotor effects.Under the influence of Sinupret, the amount of secretion in the upper respiratory tract, including the sinuses of the nose, is reduced, and the number of pathogenic microorganisms that cause rhinitis is also reduced.

Indications for use

The main indications for taking Sinupret tablets:

  1. Various inflammatory diseases of the sinuses. These diseases include rhinitis, sinusitis, and the presence of viscous sputum and mucus in the airways.
  2. Viral colds. The drug helps relieve symptoms of nasal edema, which alleviates the symptoms.

The medication exhibits a small antimicrobial and antiviral activity, therefore, it can be part of a complex treatment along with other drugs, helping to increase the intensity of their action on pathogens.

Dosage for children and adults

Dosage for administration by adult patients is standard: 1 tablet three times a day. Depending on the condition of the patient and associated diseases, the schedule of admission may vary. As a rule, taking tablets before or after eating is not specified, but if there is gastritis or any other inflammatory disease of the stomach, then it is worthwhile to eat food first.

Sinupret is a safe drug with a completely natural composition of active substances. However, its effect on the body of children under 6 years old has not been studied and requires separate clinical studies, which are currently not available. Therefore, due to the lack of complete information about the effect of the drug on younger children, Sinupret is completely contraindicated for them.

Sinupret for older children is recommended for admission by analogy with adult patients.

Cheap Sinupret analogues: a complete list

The cost of the drug is high enough for medicines against a cold. Sinupret tablets will cost about 360 rubles for 50 pieces, and for drops Sinupret will have to pay from 370 rubles per 100 ml of funds.

Of course, the price can vary from one pharmacy chain to another, however, the difference is usually insignificant.

If the patient wants to find himself a much cheaper drug, then he will have to pay attention to some other trade names:

  1. Erespal. The drug costs about 260 rubles, which, although cheaper than Sinupret, but, nevertheless, also quite a lot. However, the fact that this analogue of Sinupret in tablets helps well from any infections of the upper respiratory tract, makes it indispensable for fairly severe respiratory diseases.
  2. Rinofluimucil. It costs about the same as Erespal. Also successfully fights with diseases of the upper respiratory tract.
  3. Helomirtol. Successfully struggling with sinusitis and rhinitis, but at the same time not the cheapest substitute for Sinupret. It costs about 380 rubles for 20 tablets.
  4. Umkalor. A fairly inexpensive preparation in the form of a syrup. It is the closest drug to Sinupret, as it has not only the properties described above for the medicines, but also an antimicrobial effect.

There is also a separate pharmacological group of drugs - homeopathic medicines. Among them there are quite a lot of items, the most popular of them are Korizalia, Zinnabsin and Agri. The effectiveness of homeopathic remedies is still in doubt, but this group also has fans. In addition, when buying patients, the rather high price of homeopathic medicines can stop.

Each of the drugs has its own lists of both indications and contraindications. Therefore, you should more carefully study and compare different means in order to choose the most suitable for yourself.

What to choose, Cinnabsin or Sinupret

Comparison of two drugs can go in several directions at once. A fairly obvious option is to compare the composition of both funds. In composition, Cinnabsin and Sinupret are similar, both have the main plant components that act on the respiratory tract and have secretion thinning and anti-inflammatory properties. Both of these medicines have a certain backbone of fans who claim that only their favorite remedy has real effectiveness. However, many people are scared by the fact that Cinnabsin belongs to the group of homeopathic medicines.

It is also worth mentioning separately that Sinupret is available in the form of syrup. Thanks to this, the drug is much easier to give to children who are more willing to drink it.

Cinnabsin, in turn, can be used to prevent the disease, while Sinupret is already taken on the fact of its presence to reduce symptoms.

In general, drugs have few differences. Even the cost of both funds is approximately the same - about 370-400 rubles per package. Which of them to choose - only the attending physician decides on the basis of indications and concomitant diseases.

Comparison with Tonsilgol

Both of these drugs are produced by the same pharmaceutical manufacturer - the company Bionorika. Also, both of them consist of plant components and have indications for the use of diseases of the upper respiratory tract. But, despite this, they have significant differences in the mechanism of action.

Tonsilgon is more focused on eliminating the symptoms of throat diseases - pain and inflammation, while Sinupret acts strictly on the sinuses of the nose, eliminating “snot” and reducing congestion. Thus, the direction of action of both drugs varies significantly and they cannot be substitutes for each other.

However, in case the patient has a catarrhal disease, then both drugs can be used in combination. In this case, they complement each other, increasing the strength of each of the drugs. But you must always remember that treatment can only be prescribed by a specialist.

What is better Sinupret or Rinofluimucin

Rinofluimucil is a cheaper analogue of Sinupret, but, unlike the latter, has two main components that are not natural. In view of this, Rinofluimucil has slightly different contraindications, a different dosage regimen. It acts exclusively locally (Sinupret has a more general, systemic effect on the body).

The differences in the regimens are that Rinofluimucil must be administered four times a day into the nasal cavity, however, this contributes to a faster completion of the course. After a week, you can stop treatment.

Glaucoma, thyrotoxicosis and taking tricyclic antidepressants are included in the list of contraindications for the drug. If a patient has any of these factors, then Rinofluimucil, especially in the form of a nasal spray, should not be used.

Also, it is not necessary to apply it in children's practice, in particular, children under 3 years old cannot use the drug. However, Sinupret also established such a restriction, and the minimum age is at an even higher border - 6 years.

This medicine is prohibited in the presence of diseases such as bronchial asthma, angina pectoris, hypertension and some others.

As we can see, despite the fact that the drug is significantly lower in cost and has more potent ingredients in its composition, it also has its drawbacks. In particular, these disadvantages relate to a sufficiently large number of people who are contraindicated in the use of Rinofluimucil. One way or another, the choice always lies with the doctor, who must determine the method of treatment.

Is there an analogue for children

Sinupret itself may well be called a drug for children, since from the age of 6 it can already be used without restrictions. This is achieved due to the fact that its composition contains plant components that have the most mild effect on the body. However, younger children cannot use Sinupret, therefore, for the treatment of the common cold in children of such a young age, something else should be chosen.

The most suitable remedies for such small patients will be Erespal and Umkalor. The first can be used from 2 years, and the second - from one year of life. In the category of “substitute,” Umkalor is nevertheless closer. Like Sinupret, it is completely plant-based (the main substance is an extract from the roots of pelargonium), therefore Umkalor has a significantly lower number of contraindications and has a significantly less side effect on the child's body than all analogues.

Erespal is also a very popular treatment for diseases of the respiratory system. In pediatrics, it is used only in the form of a syrup. But it is worthwhile to understand that Erespal is more a cough medicine than sinusitis. However, one of the additional effects is a decrease in the level of inflammation, including in the nasopharynx, which accelerates the course of treatment.

In addition to effectiveness and general safety, preparations for children should also have additional characteristics, such as a more suitable dosage form for the child and a reduced level of harm specifically for the growing organism. Therefore, the selection of the drug for a very small patient is always accompanied by long fluctuations. Umkalor and Erespal, although they have a number of disadvantages, still solve the problem of choosing medicines for young children. Sinupret is a very effective drug, but it is used most often for adults.
