Composition, active substance of the drug
Tantum Rose is a product of an Italian pharmaceutical company, is available in the following forms:
- powder for solution preparation;
- ready solution.
The active substance is benzidamine hydrochloride, which belongs to the NSAID group for local use. The active ingredient helps to relieve inflammation, has a local anesthetic effect, antiseptic, antifungal, antibacterial effects. Benzidamine hydrochloride stabilizes the cell membrane, inhibits the production of prostaglandins.
The active substance quickly penetrates the membranes of bacteria, damaging its structure, disrupting metabolic processes, leading to the decomposition of pathogenic microorganisms. Tantum Rose has a powerful antifungal effect, has been shown to be effective against candida fungi.
The powder for the manufacture of the solution, in addition to the active component, consists of the following excipients:
- sodium chloride;
- povidone;
- toluenesulfonate.
The finished solution consists of the following auxiliary components:
- purified water;
- rose oil;
- ethyl alcohol;
- polysorbate;
- toluensulfonate.
Auxiliary components improve the digestibility of the active substance, give the finished solution a pleasant pink aroma.

Tantum Rose syringing solution is often used in gynecology. A syringe should be used for this procedure. To douch, you need to take at least 140 ml of the ready-made solution, preheated with a water bath. If a woman uses dry powder, then it must be dissolved in ½ liter of warm water.
Instructions for use recommend the use of this drug as follows:
- treatment of bacterial vaginosis requires procedures twice a day with a weekly therapeutic course, which, if necessary, can last up to 10 days;
- to prevent the development of infection, inflammatory disease in the postpartum period, Tantum Rose can be used as a hygienic drug. In this case, the procedures are carried out once a day from 3 to 5 days;
- with thrush, douching is performed in the usual way. Manipulation after 20 minutes leads to a decrease in burning, itching, pain;
- with vulvovaginitis, an antiseptic solution is used twice a day for 10 days.
After removing the acute stage, if necessary, you can conduct a second treatment course aimed at preventing the development of relapses. In this case, douching is carried out once a day for 3 days.
