Very often, neurological ailments are accompanied by intolerable pains, from which, it seems, there is no deliverance. Nevertheless, for such situations there is a quick and easy way out - injections of Milgamma. Doctors prescribe it in many similar cases.

Composition, release forms and packaging

This medicine is made in Germany. The company Solupharm Pharmazeutische Erzeugnisse GmbH is engaged in production. Milgamma in injections looks like a transparent red liquid, placed in ampoules of dark brown glass, in each of which 2 mg of solution is sealed. In a cardboard package can be five, ten or twenty-five containers.

The tool consists of:

  • pyridoxine hydrochloride (vitamin B6);
  • thiamine hydrochloride (vitamin B1);
  • cyanocobalamin (vitamin B12).

Contains a solution and additional components:

  • water
  • lidocaine hydrochloride;
  • sodium polyphosphate;
  • sodium hydroxide;
  • benzyl alcohol;
  • potassium hexacyanoferrate III.

The basis of the medication and its main active ingredients are B vitamins. However, it is not intended to eliminate vitamin deficiency. The vitamins in it are collected in shock concentration, tens of times greater than what the human body needs in a normal state, and by orders of magnitude greater than the usual complexes of vitamins. The task of the Milgamma is to quickly help a patient who is tormented by acute pain.

Pharmacological action, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics

The impact of "Milgimma" is the sum of the actions of its components, neurotropic vitamins of group B.

  1. B1 (thiamine) enhances energy metabolism and directs the energy received to the activation of other metabolic processes in the body. In more detail, in the process of splitting the vitamin, biologically active components are formed - thiamine diphosphate and thiamine triphosphate. They are vital for proper carbohydrate metabolism in the nervous system, prevent the accumulation of lactic and pyruvic acids, and help nerve impulses to move freely through the tissues. In addition, B1 is able to relieve pain.
  2. At a certain stage, B6 (pyridoxine) is connected, increasing the strength of the effect of thiamine. It is present in almost all metabolic reactions in nerve cells, appears in the creation of physiologically active elements (adrenaline, serotonin, tyramine, and others), in the synthesis of amino acids, and various splitting processes. As a result, in neurons, metabolism returns to normal, blood flows better. As a result, nerve tissue is restored, and this, in turn, soothes the pain.
  3. Without vitamin B12, metabolism at the cellular level is impossible. He takes part in hematopoiesis as an antianemic factor, without it methionine, creatinine, choline cannot form, nucleic acids are synthesized. In addition, cyanocobalamin also has an analgesic effect. Moreover, it has a beneficial effect even on particularly painful seizures along the nerve branches.

Together, these three B vitamins, reinforcing each other, create an excellent therapeutic effect - stop the pain that arose due to inflammation or degenerative-dystrophic metamorphosis in the nerve columns, and renews the tissue.

After the injection, Milgamma is distributed throughout the body due to blood flow. Thiamine breaks down every day in a volume of approximately one milligram, dephosphorylation occurs in the kidneys (when phosphoric acid residues are disconnected from the molecules), and the decay products leave the urine. Inside the body, B1 does not accumulate, since part of it dissolves in fats.

Vitamin B6 as a result of complex chemical transformations turns into pyridoxal and already in this form passes into the middle of the cells of the nervous system through their membranes.

B12 forms protein complexes that deliver the necessary elements to the right places. They are quickly absorbed by the bone marrow, liver and other organs. Also, cyanocobalamin entering the bile is an important participant in the intestinal-hepatic circulation.

Why prescribe injections "Milgamma"

You can’t do without injections of Milgamma for many neurological ailments, intolerable pain of which becomes an unpleasant companion. This drug is not used as a universal pain medication. It is able to affect exclusively the pain provoked by metabolic problems in the nervous system.

Milgamma is prescribed in the following cases:

  • with neuritis and neuralgia - inflammation of the nerves of the periphery and their membranes. Depending on the location of the disease, pain and inflammation go away, or the motor capabilities of the muscles are restored, or the functions of the auditory and optic nerves return;
  • with neuropathies, diabetic or alcohol - poisonous damage to the peripheral nerves. Metabolism in them improves, tissues are at least partially restored;
  • during osteochondrosis, leading to pinching of the roots of the spinal nerves and pain;
  • with all kinds of radiculitis - cervical, lumbar, chest. Increased blood flow improves metabolism in the affected area, reduces pain, coupled with the analgesic effect of the vitamins themselves;
  • with a diagnosis of herpes zoster, a herpetic pathology of nerve endings on the skin that began after a cold or due to a weak immune system.Especially in the case of chickenpox transferred in childhood, after which the herpes virus does not leave the body without a trace, but hides in clusters of neurons;
    with lesions of the nervous system caused by a sharp deficiency of thiamine. Sometimes its lack leads to very serious consequences, even to paralysis;
  • with paresis of the facial nerve, when the facial muscles can not move freely;
  • with myalgia (muscle pain) caused by inflammation of the peripheral nerves, etc.

In all these situations, vitamins of group B in ampoules are able to greatly facilitate the well-being of the patient.

Instructions for use "Milgamma" in ampoules

Before starting treatment, it is useful to know if the patient is tolerating the drug. For this, a skin test is performed. While the pains are especially severe, in the first half of the day, usually in the morning, the contents of one Milgamma ampoule are injected - 2 milliliters. The procedure must be carried out every day, until the pain is reduced.

When the proper effect is achieved, the mode changes. Injections are still taken once a day in the ampoule of the solution, but not every day, but twice or thrice a week. In this case, it is allowed to postpone the injection in the evening. To consolidate the result, it will take at least a month.

Sometimes, according to the doctor’s decision, therapy lasts longer. However, with a period of more than six months, the appearance of increased nervous excitability and frequent pain in the head is likely.

They make an injection exclusively intramuscularly, conditionally dividing the buttock into four quadrants and choosing the upper external one. The liquid must be administered very slowly. Otherwise, there is a risk of dizziness, up to a loss of consciousness. Or the pulse may become more frequent, the heart rate may be disturbed, and convulsions may even begin.

During pregnancy and lactation

Apparently, experts have not yet come to a consensus on whether it is possible to treat pregnant women with Milgamma.

In the instructions for use, enclosed in different packaging, you can find mixed opinions:

  • the assertion that this is absolutely forbidden not only to those who are expecting the birth of a baby, but also to mothers who are breast-feeding a baby;
  • the point of view that the doctor should put on the "scales" the benefits that the drug will bring to the woman, and the likely harm to the baby in the womb.

And even if the doctor made such a decision, his duty is meticulous monitoring of the condition of both mother and baby. And for nursing mothers for a while it is better to transfer the baby to artificial nutrition.

Drug interaction

Do not think that the vitamin gets along with any medications. There is a whole list of tools with which it is undesirable to combine it.

So, they reduce the effectiveness of treatment with Milgamma:

  • diuretic drugs;
  • "Isoniazid";
  • "Hydralazine";
  • "Cycloserine";
  • "Penicillamine";
  • birth control pills;
  • Parkinson's disease medication.

Since lidocaine is present in the injectable form of the drug, it can enhance the effect of:

  • "Mexiletina";
  • "Cimetidine";
  • adrenergic blockers;
  • narcotic analgesics;
  • anti-arrhythmia drugs;
  • novocaine;
  • Midazolam
  • anticoagulants and others.

From which it should be concluded that the doctor must be informed about all the medicines that the patient takes.

Compatibility of injections "Milgamma" with alcohol

Like most medicines, Milgamma and alcohol are incompatible things. And the palm among the spirits belongs to the wines. The problem is that sulfates are needed to make wine. And they practically level the healing power of thiamine.

And other components that are contained in any alcohol, if they do not negate the benefit of injections, then they will certainly slow down and reduce their healing effect.

In addition, such a neighborhood runs the risk of dizziness, an irresistible and persistent desire to fall asleep, muscle pain. The result is a progressive ailment, wasted money (the medicine is not cheap) and time.

Contraindications, side effects and overdose

The multi-component composition of Milgamma outlined the cases when such injections not only do not help, but also do much harm.

Among the prohibitions on the use of:

  • allergies
  • exacerbation of peptic ulcer of the stomach or duodenum;
  • thromboembolism;
  • erythremia;
  • erythrocytosis;
  • heart failure;
  • severe bradycardia;
  • sick sinus syndrome;
  • severe kidney and / or liver disease.

Arterial hypotension, cardiogenic shock and some other ailments are also considered contraindications.

Despite the fact that Milgamma is very effective and is most often well perceived by the body, it is still not in vain to know about possible unpleasant effects. Rarely enough, but acne or hives on the skin, increased sweating are observed. Isolated cases of a more severe reaction have been described in the form of shortness of breath, Quincke's edema and anaphylactic shock.

If an overdose occurs, the body can respond to it with an enhanced version of the listed side effects.

Milgamma Substitutes Injection

Imported drugs are always expensive, and the drug in question is no exception in this sense. But there are cheaper, but also very effective analogues of Milgamma in injections.

With the permission of the doctor, for example, it will be replaced by:

  • "Vitaxone" or "Neuromax" - with an established deficiency of vitamins B1 and B6, leading to a neurological ailment;
  • "Cocarboxylase" - with renal or liver failure, complications of diabetes;
  • "Neurobion" - in the case of neuralgia (trigeminal nerve, intercostal) and neuritis, sciatica, etc .;
  • "Nerviplex" - for the treatment of diabetic neuropathy, alcoholic polynephritis, facial paresis.

As well as the Russian substitute "Combilipen" and others.
